Welcome to the Trust

Established in February of 2024, the Preservation Trust fulfills its mission of securing the perpetual preservation of America’s preeminent Marian shrine by soliciting gifts and managing an endowment. The Preservation Trust makes grants to the National Shrine from funds raised and investment income to underwrite projects related to the preservation and conservation of the National Shrine.

The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception is the largest Catholic church in North America and is visited by more than a million pilgrims each year.

The brilliant mosaics, stained glass windows, and polished stone carvings throughout the Basilica are works of art that express the hand of the Divine Creator. The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception Preservation Trust serves as a resource to preserve these works of art for generations to come.
